Todd M. Schroeder, P.E.
Principle Engineer & Partner

Todd and Audrey Schroeder are the owners of High Plains E & D. Audrey received her Paralegal Associates Degree from Missouri Western State University and has nearly 30 years’ experience in the Human Resources field as well as Customer Service and Training.
Todd graduated from North Dakota State University (GO BISON! ) in 1992 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in the Environmental field. He has worked in the highway design and construction inspection areas prior to moving to Colorado. Todd is the Principal Engineer at High Plains where he oversees the Geotechnical (soils) side of the business, reviews the soil reports, septic designs and structural designs prior to signing and sealing them.
In their spare time, Todd and Audrey enjoy exploring Colorado, spending time with family and friends as well as their two dogs.
Christopher Viehman, P.E.
Structural Project Manager
“I’m passionate about engineering and construction. Coming up with easier, cost effective solutions to problems is my primary goal.”
Chris Viehman joined High Plains in 2014 and has over 12 years of experience in the field of structural engineering. He obtained his Bachelor’s of Civil Engineering degree from the University of Delaware and obtained a Masters of Engineering from the University of Colorado. Chris is the Structural Project Manager and evaluates construction plans, writes engineering reports and completes project designs for a wide range of structural engineering projects. His extensive background in on-site structural investigations, including forensic investigations, provides an in-depth engineering analysis for our clients’ needs.
In his free time, Chris enjoys spending time with his wife and two rapidly growing children, skiing, and spending time outdoors.
Sherry Thomas has been with High Plains Engineering & Design, LLC since Todd and Audrey purchased the business assets in 2006. Sherry has worked for engineering and printing companies in accounting, desktop publishing, shareholder relations and as receptionist for 30 years, in addition to various other companies throughout the years. She processes the accounts payable and accounts receivable as well as setting up the client contracts and project files.
Sherry likes music, animals and spending time working in her garden.
Kameron Sanchez has been with the High Plains Engineering & Design cadre since 2011. He is our in-house CAD draftsman as well as one of our septic designers. He has considerable knowledge in the geotechnical and structural sides of our company which includes, in-field inspections for structures, open hole observations, and septic systems.
In his off-time Kameron enjoys hiking and exploring new places with his two dogs and friends.
Kelsey Burch studied Equine Science’s at Colorado State University. Since college, she has worked with flow and density meters and 911- call monitoring before coming to High Plains Engineering & Design.
At High Plains, Kelsey is the first line of contact for setting up our clients’ projects and sending out price quotes. She assists with geotechnical lab work as well as writing soil reports, septic designs and general administrative work.
Outside of work, Kelsey enjoys spending time with her husband and new daughter on their property outside of Fort Lupton, where they have a menagerie of farm animals that keep them busy.
Denise Weber, P.E.
Denise Weber – Structural Engineer, attended the University of Wyoming where she earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Architectural Engineering with a Structural emphasis and a Master’s of Science degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis. Before joining High Plains Engineering & Design in 2016, Denise worked for a structural consulting firm in Kansas followed by a steel bridge manufacturing company in Colorado. She is a licensed engineer in the state of Colorado.
Outside of work, Denise is a board member for a local horse club and a high school girls basketball coach. She also enjoys spending time with her family and being a super aunt to her nieces and nephews.
Randall Trever was born and raised in Longmont where he graduated from Longmont High School. He joined the High Plains Engineering & Design team near the end of 2018. He is learning something new every day and really enjoys himself. Randall is the Geotechnical Lab and Field Technician, and his job is to obtain the soil samples in the field and test the samples in the lab for proposed foundations as well as septic systems. He also provides inspections for septic systems and structural inspections. In his free time he likes to watch most of Colorado’s sports teams; he is probably the biggest Rockies fan you will ever meet. (Go Rockies! )
